Even as the Managing Committee continued with their untiring efforts, the college was passing through a difficult times and the committee was in acute need of a philanthropist who could help the college march steadily along the path of progress.

In the meantime, as luck would have it, Mr. Sirajuddin Ajmal, a great visionary was elected M.L.A. of Jamunamukh Assembly Constituency. In the year 2006, the Committee, approached the newly elected M.L.A. to steer the college in the capacity of his being the President in the noble of the society. Mr. Ajmal, who is known for his love of education and generosity, responded positively to the call of the people. Inspired by the able leadership of Mr. Sirajuddin Ajmal, a large meeting of the local people was held in 2008. The meeting formed a new Management Body for the College. In that very meeting, it was unanimously resolved that the college be placed under the aegis of Ajmal Family to get over its besetting financial crisis, and also be renamed after any of the members of the Ajmal family. Mr. Sirajuddin Ajmal, who graced the Chair in the meeting, was highly impressed by the impassioned appeals of the broad mass of people and conceded to their demands. Mr. Sirajuddin Ajmal took no time to declare his willingness to contribute a sum of Rupees One lakh (Rs. 1,00,000/-) as token of the first gift to the College Funds and promised that the Ajmal Group would take the entire responsibility of elevating the College into a full-fledged Degree College. At the same time, he appealed to the local people to lend him a helping hand in developing the College into an institution of excellence. He also urged the new Management Committee to make arrangements for shifting the college to its own land on the Nilbagan-Murajhar Road, for which he was ready to provide every help.

The college was shifted to its own land under his sole sponsorship on the year 2008. To accommodate not fewer than 300 students, the first makeshift classrooms were housed in a 153 ft. long low-cost R.C.C. posts and G.C.I sheets. The Committee then appointed a permanent Principal and the required teaching and non-teaching staff of the college.

In a meeting of the Extended Executive Body on 29th June, 2008, it was unanimously resolved to rename Nilbagan College as ‘Haji Ajmal Ali College, Nilbagan’ in recognition of the phenomenal services of Haji Ajmal Ali, the founder of AJMAL Group of Companies. Revered Haji Ajmal Ali, the business icon, is today known across the world more as a ‘Charity King’ than any other name. He left us for all heavenly abode on 17th February, 2009. May his noble soul rest in eternal peace! As of the year 2009, the College boasts the construction of its Assam-type 4500 sq.ft. building along with another academic block to capacitate not fewer than a thousand students.

At present, the College has well infrastructure and well demarcated boundary wall with natural beauty. Efforts are as on to augment and meet the infrastructural norms set by the UGC. The president of the college, a great visionary, has cherished the dream to impart modern quality education through this institution and to raise it to a centre of excellence with all modern educational avenues. It is in the process of a phase-wise development.
